⚠️ Important: ActCheck is a self-assessment navigation tool. It does not provide legal advice, legal opinions, or compliance certifications. The reports are generated from your self-reported answers and should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional legal counsel. Always consult a qualified lawyer for decisions about your legal obligations.
1. Data We Collect
ActCheck is designed to minimize data collection. When you use the Service, we may collect:
- Session Data: Your questionnaire answers are stored temporarily in session files on our Singapore server infrastructure and automatically deleted after 90 days. We do not intentionally link assessment answers to your identity unless you provide information such as an email address, payment/order details, report link, or session ID for delivery, support, or refund review.
- Email Address (if provided): If you provide an email address for report delivery, support, or refund review, we process it for that purpose. Emails are not used for marketing or advertising profiling.
- Contact Form Data: Name, email, and message submitted via the Contact Us form. Used to respond to your inquiry, deleted within 90 days of resolution.
- Payment Information: Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy. We do not receive, store, or access your credit card numbers or full billing details. We receive an order ID and product type purchased from Lemon Squeezy.
We do not use tracking cookies, serve advertisements, perform fingerprinting, conduct cross-site tracking, or use your assessment answers for marketing or advertising profiling.
2. Why We Collect Data
- Service Delivery: Your questionnaire answers generate your self-assessment report — the core function of the Service.
- Customer Support: If you contact us, we use your information to respond.
- Refund and Error Review: If you request a refund or report a delivery/access issue, we use the information you provide to verify and review the request.
- Legal Obligations: We may disclose limited data if required by law (e.g., valid court order).
3. Legal Basis (GDPR)
For EEA/UK users, we process personal data on the following legal bases:
- Contractual Necessity: Processing questionnaire answers to generate the report you requested.
- Consent: When you choose to provide optional contact or backup information.
- Legitimate Interest: Responding to customer support inquiries, reviewing delivery/access issues, and maintaining service security.
4. Data Retention
- Anonymous sessions (questionnaire answers + generated reports): 90 days then auto-deleted.
- Contact form submissions: 90 days after resolution.
- Email delivery/support records: Deleted or minimized within 90 days after the related delivery, support, or refund issue is resolved, unless a longer period is required for payment, fraud-prevention, dispute, or legal-record reasons.
5. Data Storage
Assessment data is stored on server infrastructure in Singapore (Tencent Cloud), unless otherwise stated. Singapore is a hosting and processing location; it is not a statement that ActCheck is operated from Singapore. Data may be transferred to the third-party services described in Section 6 for payment, email delivery, support, and hosting purposes.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services which may receive limited data:
- Lemon Squeezy: Processes payments. Receives order details and email address (if provided). See their Privacy Policy.
- Resend / Amazon SES: Sends automatic report delivery, notification, and service emails. Receives recipient email addresses, message content, and delivery metadata needed to send those emails. See Resend's Privacy Policy.
- Google Workspace / Gmail: Receives support email sent to @actcheck.co addresses and is used for human support replies. Receives sender and recipient addresses, message content, attachments you send, and email metadata. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Tencent Cloud Singapore: Hosts ActCheck server infrastructure and stores assessment/report session data during the retention period.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Request restriction of processing or object to certain processing where applicable.
- Request data portability where applicable.
- Withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent).
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise these rights, email support@actcheck.co. We respond within 30 days. Note: since we store minimal data in anonymous sessions, we may not be able to identify your specific data without a session ID.
Providing questionnaire answers and, for paid reports, payment/order contact information is necessary to generate and deliver the requested report. Support and refund information is optional, but we may be unable to respond or review a request without enough information to identify it. ActCheck does not use solely automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you.
8. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical measures: TLS 1.2+ encryption for all data in transit, server-side access controls, and regular security updates. Assessment data is stored on our server infrastructure in Singapore and transferred to third-party services only as described in Section 6.
9. Contact & Data Controller
ActCheck is operated by an individual based in Beijing, China. For privacy requests, legal notices, and support inquiries, contact support@actcheck.co. Support is provided by email only. ActCheck does not currently publish a phone support channel or trade/VAT registration number.
